Pain & Anxiety Control
Many patients encounter a high degree of stress preceding and during dental procedures. We understand that some people are so frightened of dental treatment that they will not seek necessary treatment. Ingleside Dental Associates solves this problem in a variety of ways, uniquely tailored to the individual patient. Your doctor will know which is appropriate for your procedure. We can provide dental sedation in three forms: Nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and intravenous conscious sedation.
Nitrous Oxide, or "laughing gas," has proven its effectiveness and safety time and time again for short dental procedures. Nitrous Oxide is a sedative gas that you inhale through a small mask over your nose. It not only produces a sense of relaxation but also offers some light pain relief as well.
Oral Sedation is one of the newest methods of anxiety control in dentistry. Taken as a pill in the office one hour prior to the procedure, it is very well received by patients.
Intravenous Conscious Sedation is the most advanced sedative technique for the comprehensive control of pain. Fewer than 2% of general dentists have the certification to perform this form of sedation. Fortunately for Ingleside Dental, Dr. Brad Roberson is certified in intravenous sedation dentistry. Many thousands of patients have benefited from this pleasant way of having their dental treatment done here at Ingleside Dental.
